Returning in 2027 following a successful inaugural year, the Global Awards recognise excellence in leadership, innovation and impact across the international gambling sector. The Awards celebrate organisations and individuals who are strengthening industry standards, advancing regulatory outcomes, reducing gambling harm, and demonstrating ethical leadership, trust and long-term sustainability.

Open to entries from around the world, the Awards reflect a shared commitment to continuous improvement and sector advancement. They recognise achievement, progress and practical innovation that contribute to a more responsible, transparent and resilient global gambling industry.

Building on the strong foundation established in 2026, the 2027 program will expand to include additional categories, broadening recognition across the people, initiatives and solutions shaping the sector’s future. The categories will continue to spotlight critical areas for a sustainable and trusted industry, including safer gambling, governance, leadership, compliance and technology.

Tips for a Strong Nomination

A strong nomination is clear, credible and evidence-based. It should do more than describe an initiative, achievement or individual in general terms. The strongest submissions explain the context, articulate what was done and, critically, demonstrate why it mattered.

When preparing your nomination:

  • Be clear, concise and outcome-focused.
Set out the achievement in plain terms and avoid unnecessary jargon or promotional language. Focus on the specific contribution made and the results achieved.

  • Address the why, how and impact — not just the what.
Describe the problem, challenge or opportunity being addressed; explain the approach taken; and show what changed as a result.

  • Align closely with the award category and criteria.
Tailor your submission to the purpose of the category. The most effective nominations respond directly to the criteria rather than relying on broad corporate or organisational descriptions.

  • Demonstrate measurable outcomes wherever possible.
Use data, metrics and concrete examples to support your claims. This may include performance indicators, implementation outcomes, reach, engagement, operational improvements, compliance uplift, safer gambling outcomes, stakeholder feedback or broader sector benefit.

  • Substantiate impact with corroborating material.
Independent support strengthens a nomination. Where available, include testimonials, referee statements, case studies, published results, stakeholder endorsements, internal reporting, external evaluations or other supporting evidence.

  • Show what is distinctive.
Explain what sets the nominee apart. This may relate to leadership, innovation, scalability, integrity, effectiveness, collaboration, or demonstrable benefit to the sector or community.

  • Provide context for the achievement.
Help the judges understand the significance of the work by outlining the operating environment, baseline challenge, degree of difficulty, and why the result is notable.

  • Focus on substance over marketing language.
Judges will be looking for credibility, relevance and demonstrated merit. Unsupported claims, generic statements and highly promotional submissions are less persuasive than specific, evidence-backed examples.

  • Use supporting documents selectively and strategically.
Include material that materially strengthens the submission rather than overwhelming the judges with volume. Quality, relevance and corroboration matter more than length.

The strongest nominations are those that combine a compelling narrative with clear evidence of impact, outcomes and broader significance. Wherever possible, submissions should be supported by corroboration, whether through data, testimonials, independent statements or other relevant evidence.
