Entain CEO, AUSTRAC boss confirmed as keynote speakers at gambling regulation conference

Organisers of the Regulating the Game (RTG) gambling law and regulation conference have released the draft program for the event, confirming Andrew Vouris, chief executive of Entain Australia and New Zealand, and Brendan Thomas, the boss of  AUSTRAC, as keynote speakers.

RTG, to be staged in Sydney from March 9 to 11, will explore leading regulatory, policy and operational issues facing the global gambling sector with a comprehensive agenda of featured addresses, panels and expert masterclasses.

Vouris and Thomas will address the conference as a legal case involving Entain and the financial crimes regulator is ongoing, with a November 2026 court date set to determine the civil charges brought against the wagering company.

The conference’s draft program integrates context‑setting sessions to frame the regulatory environment, moderated panels on harm minimisation and market design, and expert masterclasses designed to bridge policy intent and operational practice.

Organisers said the program is designed to provoke informed debate and support practical capability uplift, with Vouris and Thomas’s keynote addresses anchoring discussions on regulatory expectations, operational compliance and the sector’s response to emerging challenges.

Other confirmed speakers include Paul James, secretary of internal affairs and chief executive of New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs; Arie Freiberg AM, Emeritus Professor of Law at Monash University; Robyn Riedlinger, CEO and founder of Your Signature Talk LLC; licensing specialist Frank Schuengel; and Daniel Rule, general manager, regulatory & compliance at Endeavour Group.
