Evive Australia confirmed as first Pitch! participant for Regulating the Game 2026

Technology developers, regulators, and safer gambling experts will converge at the Sydney Opera House for Pitch!, a new showcase introduced as part of Regulating the Game 2026, where Evive Australia will headline as the first featured innovation promoting harm prevention through technology and clinical insight.

The event will take place on March 9, 2026, as part of the sixth edition of the international regulatory and industry conference.

Pitch! @RTG is positioned as a collaborative marketplace of ideas where policy meets practice. The forum will present new technologies and compliance solutions designed to address regulatory challenges in the gambling sector. Organizers describe it as a space where initiatives that merge evidence, innovation, and operational experience are shared and tested.

Evive, an application designed to support behavioral change and harm prevention, was created by Sam DeMello, a technology specialist drawing on his own experience with gambling harm, and supported by Jay Robinson, a safer gambling expert with more than 20 years in harm-minimization work. The platform combines behavioral science, clinical knowledge, and data insights to help individuals reduce gambling-related risk and facilitate support.

Currently available in the United States, Evive is being localized for the Australian market to enhance harm prevention and support through an evidence-based, user-centered design. The app provides personalized tools, resources, and pathways for individuals looking to modify gambling behavior or seek help.

“Evive brings together real-world experience, clinical expertise, and technology to create an accessible and credible platform for change,” said Paul Newson, Principal at Vanguard Overwatch and Founder of Regulating the Game. “Pitch! was conceived to spotlight exactly these kinds of innovations — ideas that challenge convention, improve safeguards, and reimagine the future of regulation and industry practice.”

Robinson described the app as a bridge between industry, science, and personal experience. “It shows that compliance and compassion can coexist, and when they do, everyone benefits," he explained. "The app gives regulators and operators confidence in credible harm reduction tools, while giving people a safe, stigma-free path to change.”

DeMello added that Evive was designed to make support more accessible and data-driven. “We built Evive to make gambling support as accessible, personalized, and data-rich as gambling itself by using the same technology that has fueled the rapid growth of the industry," he noted. "We believe that by combining empathy and evidence, we can help people improve their relationship with gambling, on their own terms, without stigma or judgment.”

The Regulating the Game 2026 program will include:

  • Pitch! at the Sydney Opera House (March 9, evening)

  • RTG Global Awards & Gala Dinner (March 10, evening)
