International Masters of Gaming Law joins judging panel for RTG Global Awards 2026
International conference Regulating the Game has announced that Jamie Nettleton will join the judging panel for the inaugural RTG Global Awards, representing the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL). The Awards will be presented at the RTG 2026 Gala Dinner on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, in Sydney.
The RTG Global Awards recognise leadership, innovation, and impact in safer gambling, compliance, financial crime risk, integrity, and community contribution. They are part of the Regulating the Game 2026 conference, focused on regulatory capability and sector ethics.
Nettleton, a partner at Addisons and past IMGL president, is a leading gambling law expert. He advises local and international operators, investors, and regulators on complex gaming laws and compliance. His expertise spans licensing, integrity, advertising, and consumer protection.
“Jamie brings a wealth of legal and commercial expertise and is widely regarded as the leading gambling lawyer in Australia,” said Paul Newson, Principal at Vanguard Overwatch and founder of Regulating the Game. “His appointment and IMGL's involvement reflect the global calibre and integrity focus of the RTG Global Awards.”
IMGL, a non-profit network of more than 300 legal and regulatory experts across the globe, is known for advancing professional education through international conferences and its acclaimed Masterclass series. The organisation will also host a dedicated IMGL Masterclass at RTG 2026, offering insights into the key legal and regulatory trends shaping the global gambling landscape.
Additionally, the 2026 conference will also include Pitch! at the Sydney Opera House, expanded exhibitions, and sessions led by global regulatory leaders and compliance experts.
"We're honoured to contribute to the inaugural RTG Global Awards and support this important initiative recognising leadership, innovation and integrity across compliance, safer gambling, and sector stewardship,” said Marc Dunbar, President, International Masters of Gaming Law.
“IMGL is committed to advancing education and professional excellence globally, and we're pleased to partner with Regulating the Game through both the judging panel and the IMGL Masterclass program,” he added.
The RTG Global Awards will feature six categories: Leadership Voice, for reform-driven leadership; Safer Gambling Champion, for tangible harm minimisation outcomes; Compliance Excellence, for achievements in AML and regulatory compliance; RegTech Solution of the Year, for innovative technology improving compliance; Community Impact Initiative, for measurable public benefit; and Emerging Leader, recognising rising talent under 40 in safer gambling or compliance.
