Regulating the Game Conference to Feature Jamieson O’Reilly Keynote on Hacking and Securing Online Betting Platforms

Leading gambling law and regulation conference Regulating the Game has announced Jamieson O’Reilly, CEO and Lead Hacker at Dvuln, as a keynote speaker at its March 2025 event in Sydney, Australia.

The keynote, titled “Oceans 11 Down Under: Hacking and Securing Online Betting Platforms,” will take attendees into the world of cybersecurity challenges specific to online gaming and betting platforms. O’Reilly will reveal how digital vulnerabilities in areas such as payment systems, affiliate programs, and backend operations are exploited by sophisticated adversaries—and, more importantly, how they can be mitigated.

“This isn’t just about hypothetical risks; it’s about real-world scenarios that highlight how attackers can manipulate systems to gain unauthorized advantages,” O’Reilly said. “Online betting platforms are highly interconnected ecosystems, and this complexity makes them prime targets for exploitation. The key is not just understanding these vulnerabilities but building strategies to defend against them.”

Paul Newson, event organizer and Principal at Vanguard Overwatch, emphasized the importance of O’Reilly’s expertise. “As the industry becomes more digitally interconnected, understanding the risks and learning how to defend against cyber threats is more important than ever,” he said.

O’Reilly, an accomplished ethical hacker with over 15 years of experience, has conducted red team exercises and adversary simulations against some of the most challenging targets, including banks, casinos, and government agencies. He is also a member of the CREST Approved Australasia Council and co-author of the post-quantum encryption specification PPQM, showcasing his proficiency in advanced cryptography and cybersecurity.

The keynote will offer actionable insights for businesses navigating the unique challenges of securing online betting platforms, where traditional security measures often fall short against evolving digital threats.
