RTG Global Awards to honor reform and innovation in gambling industry at Sydney event
A new international awards platform will make its debut in Sydney next March, aiming to recognize individuals and organizations reshaping the global gambling sector through leadership, safer gambling initiatives, and regulatory innovation.
The RTG Global Awards, organized by Regulating the Game, will be presented on March 10, 2026, at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth during the annual Regulating the Game Gala Dinner. The program is designed to celebrate excellence across leadership, compliance, technology, and community impact.
Paul Newson, Principal at Vanguard Overwatch and founder of Regulating the Game, said the awards have resonated strongly with the sector. “There’s a genuine need to acknowledge those striving to lift standards and lead with purpose. The RTG Global Awards provide a platform to celebrate excellence, integrity, and innovation - and to champion those shaping a stronger, more sustainable industry,” he said.
Six award categories will be presented: Leadership Voice, Safer Gambling Champion, Compliance Excellence, RegTech Solution of the Year, Community Impact Initiative, and Emerging Leader.
Nominations are now open, allowing anyone to submit entries for individuals, organizations, or projects demonstrating measurable impact or leadership in their respective fields.
The judging panel includes international experts with experience in gambling law, compliance, and safer gambling: Khalid Ali, Chief Executive Officer of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA); Jamie Nettleton, Partner at Addisons and former President of the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL); and Tracy Parker, Vice-President for Policy, Standards and Accreditation at the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC).
The RTG Global Awards will form part of the Regulating the Game 2026 program, which will also feature the Pitch! event at the Sydney Opera House, an expanded exhibition, and sessions led by global thought leaders.
Now in its sixth edition, Regulating the Game has become an international conference for advancing gambling regulation and ethical leadership. More information and nomination details are available at www.regulatingthegame.com/global-awards-2026
