Peter ter Weeme

GM, Safer Gambling, The Star Entertainment Group

As General Manager, Safer Gambling, Peter leads the design and implementation of The Star’s world‑leading public health approach to safer gambling. He brings a strong focus on compliance, risk, culture, and diversity and inclusion to this work.

Before joining The Star in June 2023, Peter served as Chief Social Purpose Officer & Vice President, Player Experience at the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. In that role, he oversaw marketing, communications, safer gambling, sustainability, and stakeholder relations.

A purpose-driven leader, Peter holds an MBA specialising in environmental management and is a GAICD (Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors). His career spans corporate, government, and non‑profit sectors across North America, Europe, and Asia. He has lived and worked in Canada, the Netherlands, India, and Australia, advising organisations on a wide range of values‑based challenges.

He has also designed and delivered major campaigns and initiatives focused on public health, climate action and environmental conservation and sustainability.
